You don't get to smile much, do you?

Fortunately I keep the fridge stocked with Bud Light.

I thought of a couple more too...

Turkeys (not the kind you eat).

    Friday paychecks.

    Eagle putts.

    Pitchers and Catchers report.

Daddy, can we go out and throw/hit?

Any time I hear my son laugh.

    • Mrs. Gonelong's smile.
    • A cold beer after mowing the lawn on hot, humid day.
    • Friday, 5:00 PM
    • Opening Day
    • A campfire and a lawnchair.
    • "Daddy ..."
    • Pocket Aces.
    • Finishing a project.
    • Fish on!
    • Waking up and realizing you have another 1/2 hour to sleep.
    • A Package from Victoria Secret on the doorstep.

Maybe it's because it's supposed to be a bee-hive of activity and isn't? Maybe it's the whole calm before the storm thing? Maybe it's the confluance of thousands of people who will likely never again cross paths?

    Airports are facinating places.
That was a great description pre 9/11, when you could get past security without a ticket, me and the Mrs enjoyed evenings and early mornings out at the airport, just walking around the terminals and eating frozen yogurt.

(As an aside, it was weird being on 285 and not seeing a single car in either direction. 12 lanes+ of empty at 3am.)

Thinking about my upcoming trip to Nicaragua with my wife, son and folks to celebrate the big five-oh, spending the last five days on a roadless island, where cheap good beer, fine margaritas, great snorkeling and spectacular fishing are on tap.

Oh, and thinking of the Reds winning the WS in '12.

Young horses playing in a pasture, or baby animals of any sort for that matter.

Otters. You can't look at an otter and NOT smile. :-)

    Seeing my kids happy.

    Seeing my kids succeed.

Someone did something kind for me.

Sitting on my back patio with a cup of hot coffee watching the sunrise.

Sitting in front of a crackling fire with about 2 fingers of Woodford Reserve in a crystal glass.
She used to wake me up with coffee ever morning

This make me happy. That's my daughter watching a full moon come up on a night sail.
