    It sure wasn't laziness.

We know that WK isn't a huge EdE fan, and we have Kepp and Freel who are capable at 3rd base in case there's an injury, so maybe the Reds would have interest in Rolen as our RH, RBI, middle of the order guy.

Question is... what's in it for the Blue Jays? Do they want to go younger and EdE? Would be part of something larger .... the Jays also have Rios and Burnett rumored to be on the market that the Reds might have some interest in....

Could EdE be on the way out to someone like the O's who reportedly have interest in him...?
Ok... I'll start off the wild and crazy trade fun:
How bout Bailey and EdE for Burnett and Rolen.... any takers?

That would be a horrible deal. Imagine the fun had by all while they are both sitting on the DL. Both have done some impressive things in their careers (Rolen more than Burnett), but no way would I trade anything near that value with their injury histories.

If you ask George Grande, he's a HOFer.

When he's healthy....lately, he hasn't been much of that.

Not worth the risk to me....assuming Edwin isn't traded, he should be fine over there.

With any injury-prone and aging player, time is one of the biggest concerns. Baseball players are not wines; few get better with age. Chronic conditions tend to get worse and act up more frequently rather than fading away. Yes, it can happen, but it's usually the result of hard work by the medical staff and player or some other significant change. The Jays will be taking on three years and $36 million for the right to see Scott Rolen at the hot corner in Rogers Centre

Sweet! I always wanted a Rolen sitting on our bench teaching the younger guys how to flick the seed farthest using the ring finger technique while he rehabs from his shoulder surgery sure to come mid June!

Also nice to be rid of the Rolen defense.

Mostly it's been pitchers, but not many of them. The reds problem is they find healthy guys that suck.

This is the same David Bell that used to collect a paycheck from the Phillies while supposedly playing 3B?

If that's the same David Bell, then what you smell in South Philly is the huge pile o cash they burned when they signed him.

One and the same. And it wasn't only George either. All of the radio and TV announcers ha(ve)d a love affair with David Bell.

I thought I smelled something like that when I was there last August.

Yesterday, Rolen rolled into his introductory press conference like a starburst of personality.

He seemed visibly excited to be out of St. Louis and on a new team in a new town in a new country. He warned that his parents will be tooling around Toronto during 81 home games next year in their RV and that his two young kids will be running wild throughout the city.

"We're going to storm this place and tear a lot of stuff up," Rolen said.
