    Reds going after Fogg?

    From Fay:

I heard today that the Reds have been talking to free agent right-hander Josh Fogg. Wayne Krivsky would not confirm that.

Fogg, a 31-year-old right-hander, was 10-9 with 4.94 ERA for Colorado last year. It was the fifth time in six years he's won at least 10 games. But he's never pitched 200 innings.

Fogg made $3.625 million last year, so the Reds might be able to get him at a relatively reasonable price.

Krivsky did say the Reds remain hopeful about landing a veteran for the rotation. He just won't name names, of course.

I'd rather go with what we have now.

The only thing worse would be if Krivsky did confirm this.

I saw this one coming. Honest, I did.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

This guy's a classic Reds hurler. Righthanded, nondescript. Make it happen, Wayne -- the power of tradition.

Not the hitter Livan is, but maybe a smidgen better on the mound these days.

of course he won't name names, since its against the tampering rules. Bringing it up makes it sound like he could but won't.

I saw on ESPN's ticker that Fogg resigned with the Rockies. Here's hoping that's true, and the only appearance he makes at GABP this year is with the Rockies.

Awful strikeout rate, below average home run rate, and average walk rate.

    Pass.

    Re: Reds going after Fogg?

If we sign Fogg, I hope it is only for one year, much like if the Reds were to sign Livan. I want no part in giving a multiyear contract to a pitcher with a career 5.06 DIPS ERA.
