    Who is/are your favorite Red/Reds of all-time?

Whether or not you got to see them play, who are your favorite Redlegs of all-time?

I'll tell ya what... to make it more informative, say which players you got to see and which ones you didn't.

For one, I've always found Dead Ball Era players (or those who carried that style into the 1920s) to be among the game's most interesting. The game was different during that time; a type of style we'll see flashes of nowadays and is simply entertaining to me.

Roush himself was really a great player too with that style too. Great contact hitter, very high BA/very good OBP skills, and an excellent defensive center fielder. He'd simply be a fun player to watch, IMO. The best player on a very interesting World Series winner too in 1919. Plus he gets style points with a 48 ounce bat and his own spring training rules. Roush would either never report to spring training or report very late; he'd be hunting quail and rabbits instead - his own spring training as he called it - and then he'd report to the team around when the regular season started.

1st Favorite and Still My All-Time Favorite: Grady Hatton

    Then: Gus Bell

    Then: Frank Robinson

    Then: Tony Perez

    Then: Barry Larkin

I got to see them all play (that's good) because I'm 68 (not so good).

Re: Who is/are your favorite Red/Reds of all-time?

Pete Rose was my favorite as a kid.
So was Bench, Morgan, Perez, Concepcion, Foster and Seaver.
John Franco was another favorite of mine, as was Eric Davis and Barry Larkin.
Now, it would be The Kid, Harang, Phillips and Dunn.

As for old guys who I like, but never got to see: Frank Robinson, Vada Pinson, Lombardi, Bucky Walters, and Klu.

Saw them all play. Bench, Foster, and Griffey hold a special place in my heart as they were my first "heroes" as a kid.

I got a chance to meet Davis his rookie year and he made quite an impression. Class act. He may be one of the the greatest players I have ever seen in person. What he did in the late 80's was amazing. I just wish he could have stayed healthy. He would have been a sure bet for the Hall of Fame.

#14 noses out #13 as my all time favorite. Loved the way they played the game.

Eric Davis was the best I ever saw. Love Jr., but Davis was the MAN.

Top 5 Davis, Larkin, Jr., Rijo, Soto.
