    Orlando Spring Training Article

Not encouraging if you want to see Orlando.

Basically the Reds consultant asked about 3 sites in central Orlando that either have no stadium or an ancient stadium that requires essentially a total overhaul. And Orlando has no money availble.

I assumed the Orlando option was sharing ST with Braves and then using Disney stadium for Florida State League ball. Maybe it's still on table since this article refers to moving to Disney as "moving out of Orlando"

I was thinking about this today, but wouldn't it be refreshing to see the Reds buck the current trend of municipalities footing the vast majority of the bill and step up and pay for a new facility themselves. The bill in Sarasota was expected to be $54M - amoratise that over 30 years and it's doable in my opinion.

I'm not meaning to make this political, but given the leanings of Bob Castellini, wouldn't you think he'd be the first to say we don't need a handout from the goverment; we're a business and can fund this thing ourselves?

What business man, in spite of his leanings, turns down someone else paying the bill? Oh sure, I lean this way, so the team will pick up the tab....

    I just don't see it.
