Redszone Community Prospect Vote #31 (Runoff)

The last poll had two guys within 3 votes of each other at the top and that means we get a run off. Vote for only one of the two players listed.

I'm going with Herrera. I still think he has a chance to be a useful different look type of pitcher who can go multi-innings from the left side (when most starters are RH) and set line-ups off balance for one time through. I think he should be in the mix for long relief at some point in 2008.

Smit is already on the 40 man with 5 years of minor league service and pretty far away. He is eligible for minor league free agency soon (end of 08?? Not sure of the rule if anyone can clarify) and I don't see him making the majors before the Reds lose control of him. He may emerge someday with some team, I just don't think its the Reds and unless they deal him before the season (Brian Anderson anyone??) he won't be a guy that they get anything for at this point.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

Gotta go with Smit, if for no other reason than his website, which I find very funny for some reason.

Absolutely Smit I don't even see it as close, at least talent wise.
