Twins get Hernandez for 1 year and a bunch of cash

Long-rumored to be the backup plan should the Mets fail to land Johan Santana, Livan Hernandez has finally found his team: The Minnesota Twins. The deal will be for one year and in the $5 to $6 million range. Ken Rosenthal reports that incentives could bring that value up to around the $7 million he earned with the Diamondbacks in 2007.
Thats flat out gross amount of money if you ask me. If the reds were ever interested in him I'm sure once they talked numbers they ran away as quick as possible.

I think we should have signed Livan over Affeldt. We know Livan is a starter(unlike Affeldt), will give you 200 innings, and can be expected to keep you in games. I know he will give up some hits and Hrs, but he would have been a bargain at 5-6 million for 1 year.

I think that in a year or two, one of these guys - Frazier, Dorn, Valaika, Cumberland, Stubbs - will be ready to replace Dunn. They won't hit as many home runs as Dunn, but they should have similar OPS. - 757690, July 22, 2008

Alonso will be playing 1B for the REDS and batting 4th one year from today. - Kingspoint, July 9, 2009

1.60 whip and he would have given up more than some hits and some homers.
