    Homer Bailey's a little crazy

"I wish I could do my own physical," Bailey said. "I want to draw my own blood. In high school, I had [arthroscopic] knee surgery and I told the doctor to just numb it because I wanted to be awake and watch it. Then he held up the big novocaine needle and said, 'Are you sure?' I said 'OK, knock me out for two minutes.' Then I snapped back up after that and watched."

Wants to do his own physical?
    Draw his own blood?
Want's to watch them cut on his knee?

This guy is nuts! But in a good way. We need some pitchers a little crazy!

I hope he's not crazy enough to pitch with pain, and screw up his career.

What's abnormal with wanting to watch your own surgery? I wish I could have if it wasn't impossible. It should be encouraged to see how the body works. Maybe he was interested in becoming a doctor but had to give up his dream in order to become a baseball player.

I don't know if anyone said there is something "wrong" with it, but it is a little odd.

I read this and found it funny how he changed his tune a bit when he saw that big needle.
"When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail"

I'm just glad to be here. I want to help the ball club however I can. We just gotta take 'em one day at a time. If we can stay away from injuries we will be fine.

A little honesty and motor mouthing is refreshing.

Sounds like he's been hanging out with Farney too much.

Sanchez struggled with his command through six starts in 2007 before the Marlins optioned him to Triple-A Albuquerque on May 4. Rather than report to the minors, Sanchez made mention of the shoulder discomfort and ultimately underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum.

Monday, Sanchez said he first felt pain during his third start on April 16 at Houston, but chose not to say anything until after he was optioned.

"From then on my arm didn't stop bothering me," Sanchez said. "I thought it was fatigue from spring training, but that wasn't the case and here I am."
