Super awesome last pick, WilyMo. Wes is gonna be a stud in the NFL as a safety.

Thanks patnah. If the Bengals could have the draft that I put together for the Pats, I would be one happy dude.

All 4 of those players would start for the Bengals (prolly 3 out of 4 would start for the Pats... possibly all of them, however).

Wesley Woodyard, linebacker, from the University of Kentucky.

While Wesley played linebacker at Kentucky, he will be converted into a strong safety in the NFL. He did, in fact, have the 3rd fastest 40 time of all safeties at the combine. He comps out very well to Rodney Harrison, and we expect him to have an immediate impact on our team, both on defense and special teams. Wesley is a true game-changer with an unbelievable "nose for the football."

(That was who I was going to pick for the Bengals btw)

Re: OFFICIAL 2008 nfl Redzone Draft.

Well, the New York Football Giants (the Super Bowl Champs) were all set to look one of three ways with the 95th pick of the draft. WR (to add some more speed and maybe special teams ability), S (speed, position of need) or DT (could use some rotation additions). Then Antwaun Molden falls to us. We rate him as a mid second round talent and there he is at the bottom of the third round.

Thus, going with the best talent available, the NY Football Giants select Antwaun Molden, CB, E. Kentucky

Re: OFFICIAL 2008 nfl Redzone Draft.

The Redskins find themselves with this "extra" pick and are very happy about it. While we are not arrogant enough to think our team can't use help deep in the third round, we also believe we've already addressed our most glaring needs and can afford to take a bit of a flier with this pick.

So, we're going with a player we really like, period. We're going with a player that would have most likely gone much higher were not for a late-season injury. With the 96th pick in the draft, the Washington Redskins select.......

    Dennis Dixon, QB, Oregon

Re: OFFICIAL 2008 nfl Redzone Draft.

I know I took a lot of crap for the Flacco pick of the Eagles in the 1st Round, but as of this morning, Mel Kiper Jr has Flacco as his #2 rated QB behind Matt Ryan. Said Flacco could be taken anywhere between mid 1st, and end of 2nd, and would be surprised if he didn't get taken by the 2nd.

I can't remember if he said it on SportsCenter or Mike & Mike in the Morning (since Todd McShey was taking Golic's place to talk all about the draft).

Conversely, McShey and Kiper couldn't agree on Henne, but both of them felt that Andre Woodson's stock is falling due to his long throwing motion, and not getting rid of the ball quickly.

They put together their latest top 5, and it was as follows:

    Ryan
    Flacco
    Brohm
    Henne
    Booty

So, I still stand by my Flacco pick!

Re: OFFICIAL 2008 nfl Redzone Draft.

The Cincinnati Bengals are on the clock...

So far, the Bengals have addressed three major holes on defense. Of course, this draft would have changed dramatically had it taken place before Chris Henry was released. However, this late in the draft there are no receivers we are considering, so we have decided to fill our last hole on defense.

    The Cincinnati Bengals select:

    Josh Barrett, safety, Arizona State.

Losing Madieu hurt us in the secondary, but we feel that Barrett can compete with Marvin White and Chudike Ndukwe for playing time.

    Atlanta selects

    Charles Godfrey, CB, Iowa

A reach? I don't think so. He is a physical CB that can run and probably can play a little safety.
