    Spring Training Battles

The Reds have a decent amount of rosters battles, and I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread so we can keep track of how everyone is doing. I'll try to keep this updates as much as possible. If you think I should add any more spots or add more players, just let me know. Your wish is my command.

    1st Base
We all would think this isn't a roster battle and the job is Votto, but I'm not sure anybody thinks that is the case.

    Joey Votto: 8 ABs, .250 BA, .333 OBP, .375 SLG, 1 2B, 0 HR, 0 RBI
    Scott Hatteberg: 4 ABs, .500 BA, .600 OBP, .500 SLG, 0 HR, 1 RBI

    Shortstop
With the injury Gonzalez, there is an opprotunity for somebody to win the job. The favorite has to be Keppinger.

    Jeff Keppinger: 11 AB, .182 BA, .250 OBP, .182 SLG, 0 HR, 0 RBI, 1 CS
    Paul Janish: 5 AB, .200 BA, .200 OBP, .400 SLG, 1 2B, 0 HR, 0 RBI
    Adam Rosales: 10 AB, .500 BA, .500 OBP, .900 SLG, 1 2B, 1 HR, 1 RBI

    Center Field
A position where the majority want to see Jay Bruce win. We'll see how long his injury keeps him out.

    Jay Bruce: 12 ABs, .500 BA, .500 OBP, .583 SLG, 1 2B, 2 RBI, SB
    Norris Hopper: 8 AB, .000 BA, .000 OBP, .000 SLG, 0 HR, 0 RBI
    Ryan Freel: 11 AB, .152 BA, .250 OBP, .152 SLG, 0 HR, 0 RBI
Chris Dickerson: 11 AB, .362 BA, .462 OBP, .909 SLG, 1 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR, 2 RBI, SB, 5 Ks (special Dickerson stat because he does that more then anyone I have ever seen)

    Starting Pitcher
Most popular position battle. At least two spots up for grabs. Young guys, veterans, or mix?

    Homer Bailey: 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 1 K
    Edison Volquez: 1.2 IP, 2 H, 3 R, 1 HBP, 1 BB, 1 K
    Johnny Cueto: 2 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 2 K
    Josh Fogg: 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K
    Jeremy Affeldt: 2 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 1 K

    Bullpen
Not sure how many actual spots are up for grabs here, but warrants a spot anyways.

    Josh Roenicke: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K
    Marcus McBeth: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K
    Brad Salmon: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 0 K
    Gary Majewski: 1.1 IP, 7 H, 6 R, 0 BB, 1 R (40.50 ERA for those scoring at home)
    Mike Stanton: 2 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 0 BB, 1 K
    Todd Coffey: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K

I'll update it at least once or twice a week, but probably more then that.

"The guy I think could be really good in center is Adam Dunn. If someone asked me if Dunn could be a center fielder for the next 10 years, if he started working on it, no one could explain to me why he couldn’t do it." - Brad Kullman
