Its funny. Yesterday Francona was on XM and said they needed one more piece, a LH bat off the bench.

Casey. Check for the LH bat off the bench.

He said he hoped it would be someone who could play 1b, 3b, and the OF and maybe provide a little pop.

Ummm, hey, Sean can play 1b and he sure is a nice guy isn't he?

Low risk, good presence. Should be a nice fit for them.

Good for the Mayor. Looks like he's trying to get another shot at a ring.

    Solid choice for the bench.

$700K, huh? That's quite a difference from what he was making in DET.

I'd love to come off the bench for 700K. Good for Casey. Nice fit.

I always figured him as someone who'd be likely to spend some time with the Sox if he didn't spend his whole career as a Red.

I read this morning that the Yankees signed Morgan Ensberg to a minor league deal. The big boys are fine tuning.

Now we'll never get the Sean Casey meter going for the Hot Stove now, unless someone calls in to ask the Poofy one, or Son of Poofy one how they think Sean will fare in Beantown.

I wonder if the Hot Stove Report will discuss this development. (Seconds too slow for Highlifeman.)

Could always bring up a trade to get him back in Cincy.

Let's send Freel, Hatteberg and something to the Red Sox for Crisp and Casey.

We need a CF, and bringing Casey back to Cincy would temporarily put some butts in seats. I'd rather the FO use Casey as a PR circus move than Homer Bailey.

You underestimate people. Remember the guy who called in the week before and didn't know Thom had been working for the Reds for a year? Of course it was my idea for the Sean Casey meter thinking there would be scores of calls mentioning him and it hasn't happened yet so who knows.
