Absolutely. The kids in these "lesser" conference finals play soooooo hard.

The only bad part is some of the announcing. Anyone who has ever called a college basketball game has a job this week. Some of them are not very good. Example: the two yutzes doing the WKU-MTSU game last night. Ugh.

I love conference tourney week. The Big East starts today. Syracuse HAS to beat Villanova today. One win helps, two wins this week is probably enough for them.

Elimination game for the loser for sure. While the winner may need one more win to get in.

Lunardi has both of them in right now. I'm not so sure.

EDIT: I stand corrected. His updated Bracketology has Syracuse, Florida, Arizona State, and VCU as the last four out.

Honestly, I'm a UK fan, but I don't see Kentucky as a cod-lock and Syracuse as out, based simply on the numbers.

Kentucky has the "hotness" factor going for them over Syracuse, but I'd say being without Patterson counter-acts that.

My respect for you will continue to wane if you keep spouting such nonsense.

I agree with you though. I have a hard time saying UK is definitely in and Syracuse is out at this point.

I have an even harder time with Arizona in before Syracuse.

Forde discusses some of the poor officiating as had previously been discussed on the old thread: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/colum...9&sportCat=ncb

Good article. Georgetown and UCLA have definitely had some help at the end of games with horrible calls and non-calls at home.

Arizona better beat Oregon State tonight or it will be over. Oregon State was winless in the Pac 10 this season.

Right now UK looks good but they must win one game in order to be a lock. Crazier things have happened in conference tournaments that could effect the seedings. What if Syracuse goes on a run and wins 2-3 games? What if Rhode Island wins the A-10? What if Arizona reaches the tourney final? There are too many things that can happen that could change UK's tourney status.

I think their respective in-conference records is what really sets UK and Syracuse apart.

Problem there is the Big East is considered a much tougher conference in most people's eyes. I'm not sure 12 wins in the SEC carries more weight than 9 in the Big East. Syracuse is ahead of UK in the RPI and their SOS is higher.

I just don't see a team that finishes 2nd in the SEC East with a 12-4 record in a major conference being left out of the tourney...
