Win one conference championship in six years? Awesome.

Notice the 2nd part of my post. "Continue" doesn't stop after your first 4-5 seasons.

My prediction is Kentucky goes undefeated and wins the NCAA championship for the next 4 consecutive seasons. Then Billy moves on to coach in the NBA where he wins 10 straight NBA titles with the Atlanta Hawks.

    Tubby career winning percentage: 72.0
    Billy career winning percentage: 63.1

Tubby won a conference championship and went to the Elite 8 in his 8th year at UK.

Oh yeah, and going by winning % is a great way to decide which coach is the best.

    Just like with pitchers.

I know you don't think Flubby is in the same category as Billy G at this point in their respective careers. Stop trying to bait me.

Can you tell me the longest stretch in UK history without going to a Final Four?

What? By this point in his career (6th year), Tubby had won 3 conference championships, gone to 3 Sweet 16s, and won a national championship.

Once again, I have to break out this smiley:

Any statement that paints a positive light on Tubby Smith is strictly forbidden in the TOS for UK threads.

I'm not getting into these old debates again. We all know how and why Tubby had the early success that he did. I'm not going to rehash it.

Tubby deserves a lot of credit. Just like he deserves blame for the program slipping under his watch.
