This was in the Enquirer this morning...
"Jeff Keppinger said he is not hurt; he's just been given the last two days off. He'll play today."

However, he is not in the lineup today vs. the Pirates...
This is not a good sign... surely Dusty is not thinking what we all think he is thinking...
Let's hope that they already know what they've got in Keppinger, and they're giving other guys more playing time to decide:
a.) If Castro's arm can hold up on back-to-back days.
b.) If Andy Green, Andy Phillips, or Jolbert Cabrera can be the utility infield guy should Gonzo start off on the DL while Keppinger is the starting SS.
At least I hope to God that's what Dusty and Krivsky or doing. If their "plan" involves Juan Castro being the starting SS on opening day, then I might have to give up hope that they know what they're doing.
The only thing worse than Castro at SS on Opening Day, would be Castro at SS, batting 2nd on Openinig Day.
If Keppinger doesn't make the roster, I'm finished with Dusty.
If Bruce isn't on it, I will be mad, but Keppinger is our most versatile and consistent utility guy.
Keppinger has got to be at SS on opening day I think. He is the next best in line, he can hit the ball and he can field. I don't think Dusty would not play him.
