White Sox DFA SS Juan Uribe

No link as of yet, but it's on the radio here in Chicago.

If the Sox would pay some of his salary, is he an upgrade over Juan Castro?

I am an upgrade over Juan Castro.
My dad got to enjoy 3 Reds World Championships by the time he was my age. So far, I've only gotten to enjoy one. Step it up Redlegs!

Uribe used to be an excellent defender. He's not anymore. Right now he's pretty much an expensive version of Castro.

Uribe has a little more pop in his bat.

I'd rather go with a plus-plus defensive shortstop - even if he can't hit a lick. The development of the young pitchers trumps everything else as far as I'm concerned.

That's not to say the current roster has such a player.

Has his defense really declined? He was something in CO for his tenure.

Last time I saw him on TV he looked very heavy.

I don't think there is much Uribe can do right now that Janish could not provide off the bench.
It's absolutely pathetic that people can't have an opinion from actually watching games and supplementing that with stats. If you voice an opinion that doesn't fit into a black/white box you will get completely misrepresented and basically called a tobacco chewing traditionalist...

Sorry sava, I think I'll go with Castro
And then expect a VERY low scoring game from both teams...

except Uribe had a higher OBP last year with the White Sox than Janish had in AAA

    BP still likes his defense...

Didn't Uribe kill a guy last year in the Dominican?

Might add some fire to the team chemistry.

I know some White Sox fans that wish that were the case
