With the runner on 3rd and 1 out, Andy Phillips hits a 1-2 pitch to 2nd. With the infield in, Hatteberg can't come home. 2 down with Hatt still on 3rd.

Hopper grounds to the pitcher, who easily fields and tosses it to 1st. To the bottom of the 8th we go with the Reds up 5-1.

Rivas grounds to short. Castro uses golden hands to field and toss to 1st. 1 down.

Nyjer Morgan grounds to 2nd. 2 down.

Thom seemingly gushing about how good the Astros could be this year. I have them finishing next to last.

A bloop single to right by another guy. Runners on 1st and 2nd with 2 out.

Who does Thom think is pitching for the Astros this year to get them to "good"? Other than Oswalt?

Weathers runs the count full to Kevin Thompson. Then he walks him.

After two quick outs, Weathers gives up a walk, single, and another walk to load 'em up. Dick Pole comes out for a chat.

Me too, though I'm thinking the Pirates could improve in the 2nd half of the season while the Astros head downhill after their summer firesale.

I'm thinking Roy Oswalt will find himself on the Boston Red Sox before the season ends.

Weathers gets Mientkewizc (I have no idea how to spell his name) to ground out weakly. Reds still up 5-1 heading into the top of the 9th.
