Today's Question: Name the three active players with 3000 ABs and a sub .300 OBP?

If you named two current Reds starters - brownie points for you

    Alex Gonzalez - CIN
    Corey Patterson - CIN
    Juan Uribe - CHW

Hat tip to Tom Verducci for the stat

Wow. I didn't realize that. Now, put CP, AG, BP, Bako/Valentin/Ross and the pitcher together and the Reds have 5 guys in the lineup that don't get on base with any regularity. Which is why I've said the Reds pitching will pleasantly surprise this year, imo, but the offense will be maddening.

Sometimes it is not uncommon for them to have six if EDE is struggling. That is the main reason I stopped blaming a Dunn or Griffey because the six other batters often don't pull their weight especially against decent pitching of course we all cheer naturally when they feast off of poor pitching but to me that is misleading. I wish stats broke down the hitting and getting on base by what level of pitching they did it against so we could see greater into their abilities. Do they do most of their numbers against 4.50 or worse, or can they get on base against even better pitchers 2.50, 3.50.

If we could just get Castro about 800 more ABs, we would have 3 players in that club, which would be awesome.

It's absolutely pathetic that people can't have an opinion from actually watching games and supplementing that with stats. If you voice an opinion that doesn't fit into a black/white box you will get completely misrepresented and basically called a tobacco chewing traditionalist...
