Hopefully Volquez pitches well gets his first Reds win. We need to win this game because Cole Hamels is pitching tomorrow and we all remember what he did to the Reds last season.

God bless ya, Dusty, for starting off the season without giving us a "Sunday special". It darn near brings a tear to my eye.

I see the first base situation remains an every other day event....but I'm glad to see a Sunday lineup with some substance.

All those pining for "lineup stability" should be loving Dusty by now.

I fully expected to see Castro in this lineup. What a relief.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

The relief for me has been that so far Castro hasn't seen the light of day - and it's a pleasant surprise. Kepp's hitting has quieted that possibility I guess.

Let's hope the offense decides to show up today. It's nice that we have three wins already considering the offense is scoring just under 4 runs a game so far.

Is this the third or fourth start for Voloquez versus the Phils? Hopefully they haven't figured him out yet.

The Reds haven't faced Myers since 2005, which means most of the lineup hasn't seen much of Myers. The two notables ...

Dunn: .273/.467/.909/1.376 with two homers, one double, and four walks in 15 total PAs
Griffey: .333/.400/.444/.844 with one double and one walk in 10 total PAs

Let's hope Dunn and/or Griffey can light Myers up today and help get the offense rolling.

Are you sure, Cyclone? I may be wrong but I seem to recall Dunn/Edwin/someone hitting back to back to back homers off of Myers in the summer of 2006.

It'd be nice if Dunn and Junior started rolling, both are due. Heck, the whole lineup is due, these guys are going to hit a lot better than we've seen so far. It would be nice to get Edinson a bunch of runs early so he could just relax and let er rip.

Actually, good catch cause you're right. Baseball Reference is apparently now charging for the full info and didn't have the 2006 starts listed.

The Reds did face Myers twice in 2006. He pretty much shut us down once, then we teed off on him the second time around with Dunn and Encarnacion hitting back-to-back homers (ironically I was at the latter game in Philly so I can't believe I forgot that).
