Just blew the fastball right by him. Strikes out the side. He really has no other pitch. Something offspeed but it isn't impressive and doesn't have much movement(has to be a change). Must throw really hard. I wish I knew how hard. They won't say.

I would have to throw in Lotzkar as well, and maybe Waring and Francisco if they improve their plate discipline and Valaika looks to be off to his usual early season hot start. Throw in Stubbs and Mesoraco as other possible candidates.

Jeffords has 10 K's in 4 IP this season. Wow.

Rough night for Justin Reed...0-for-4 with 4 K's.

3rd inning of work for Jeffords. Almost all fastballs.

    Strikeout
    Hit
    Flyout

    Pulled with 2 outs.

This guy is all fastball. It is funny watching it. Every so often he will throw a change-up.

He doesn't look like he knows how to hit a baseball.

Stubbs doubled to leadoff the 8th, he's 1-for-3 with his second double of the season, a walk, and his 3rd stolen base.

Louwsma followed with a homerun. 7-1 Sarasota.

Bottom of the 8th. Frazier struk out (swung at a terrible pitch, curve in the dirt). Waring jammed but hit it just hard enough for a single over the first baseman. McKennon reaches on a hit and an error by the 1b. 1st and 3rd, 1 out. Phipps with a liner up the middle. Dragons up 3-2.

All a good reliever neds is a great fastball and one decent off speed to set it up. I know where he could learn how to improve that changeup. Maybe Jeffords needs to visit Mr. Soto at the Academy for a few weeks.
