    Pat Burrell

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a huge fan. But if Dunn prices himself out of town, he may be a guy to consider giving a cheaper/shorter version of Dunn's deal to, as he is a right handed guy that has OPS'd around .900 for the past few years.

I would like to re-sign Dunn first and foremost, but if that doesn't happen for whatever reason, would you consider giving Burrell 3 for $45-50MM? Just a thought...

    no.

if you let Dunn go then the idea needs to be younger and cheaper combined with better defense. Burrell fails on all counts.

I don' t know. He seems to have problems with the Philly fans and, as we all know, if you can't get along with them, you can't get along with anyone.

Burrel would get the Dunn treatment twice as bad.

I'm not all that interested in Burrell because of age and price. But to eliminate from consideration a masher in LF because of defense is flawed.

if the Reds dont sign Dunn to an extension my guess is that his defense is the main reason the organization is not interested.

I can't see age as a problem. Getting a player in age 29-32 seasons is usually a good thing. Dunn is young for a free agent. If he is smart he has a chance to hit the jackpot twice(2 4 year deals).

I can see it being a concern though. His type of player doesn't age well...

some do some don't, Frank Howard who may be as close to Dunn in body type(just very tall and large individuals) as any player played his best in his early 30's.

Cincy probably isn't Las Vegas enough for Burrell's fast lane lifestyle....

I like Dunn better. But I think Burrell is underrated.

Ladies and gentlemen, meet Frank Howard... the Ryan Howard-Frank Thomas hybrid!
