Today's lineup- not a game thread

    Redlegs

    Norris Hopper CF

    Ryan Freel 2B
    Ken Griffey RF
    Adam Dunn LF
    Jeff Keppinger SS
    Edwin Encarnacion 3B
    Joey Votto 1B
    Paul Bako C
    Edinson Volquez P

Some interesting twists to the lineup today. I am curious to see how Volquez does in game 3 for him.

I understand that BP needed a rest -- but do you really want to bench your best hitter versus lefties? I don't get it.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

Interesting. No Phillips. Hope the wind is blowing in today.

Got the TV fired up in the office on WGN.

Phillips is 0-for-13 against Lilly, still I think I want him in there.

Game is on WGN. One of the few games I can watch this season. Looking forward to seeing Volquez. I hope he doesn't disappoint. Dusty said Phillips needed a day off. He thought he was swinging at too many pitches. I'll take any kind of win today,10-9 or 1-0,just win baby!

Freel was lifetime 0 for 7 against Lilly, so I think that is a moot point...

lefties back to back two times in the line up vs. a lefty. Wow! It worked. Phillips needed a day off. Nice to get this win.
