Going back home to Jersey next week to see The Bouncing Souls play in NYC. Very excited.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Here's a random smattering of stuff that's been sticking in my head lately:

Well, at least it would've been, but for the life of me I cannot get Youtube videos to embed. How the heck do you make it work on this site?

Big Beach House fan myself. The instrumentation alone doesn't do much, but I'd pay money to hear Victoria Legrand read from the telephone book.

Still listening to Thee Oh Sees new album, Castlemania, which has grown on me. For any fellow Chicagoans, they're playing town twice this weekend, Empty Bottle on Saturday and a free show at the Logan Square Monument on Sunday.

I've also started digging through Ty Segall's catalog, really enjoying him so far.

TOS are rad and if I was in Chicago - I would be at those shows.

Ty is a Nashville darlin. They love him here.

I've not yet been struck by anything Thee Oh Sees have done, but the EP by their frontman (?), Tim Cohen's Magic Trick, is one of my favorite things that's come out this year. Very cheeky and intelligent and kind of basic in a good way.
There is no such thing as a pitching prospect.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe you're confusing The Fresh & Onlys with Thee Oh Sees. Both Bay Area scrappers, but, to my mind, different sounds. Recommended entry point for Thee Oh Sees, Help.

Good seeing you around VP. Always enjoy your literary and musical opinions.

    ‪*NEW* Kanye West & Jay Z - Otis [CDQ/No Tags] 2011 (DL LINK)‬‏ - YouTube

Off of Jay-Z and Kanye West's collaboration album, Watch the Throne.

Ye takes numerous shots at Drake in his first verse in response to "Dreams that Money Can Buy."

Edit: Can't figure out how to post the video like everyone else does

Yes, you are totally correct! The Fresh & Onlys and Thee Oh Sees are two bands that I've been lukewarm on, hence the mix up But I will check out Help.
