(kwae'-toe). 1. Failure to coddle a pitcher (baseball); 2. overzealous promotion. The team cuetoed its prize prospect, and his career suffered.

Are the Bats batting out of order or is Gameday messed up? I'll bet Gameday is messed up, no one ever bats out of order.

I'm not worried about Johnny, nor do I think he was promoted too soon. His problem is too many HRs (perhaps a matter of focus or overconfidence). That's about it. Judging by his performance across three levels last season, that wasn't a problem in the minor leagues. He's not going to gain the capability to get that number down by facing minor leaguers.

i think its a case of making sure that he has no development left to make as a batter that they are worried about. Pitching in the big leagues is a lot different to pitching in the minors so there may be somthing that they want him to show he has really got a hang of before he makes it to the bigs and be found out by major league pitching.

More evidence that he's not ready...he can't bat 1.000 for games at a time.

There aren't a lot of Doc Goodens out there that step on the mound and dominate from day one. Many very good pitchers struggled at times during their first year in the majors.

Reds pitchers don't get any help from the OF defense, either. In fact, except for Phillips, they don't get help from their defense, period.

Please, Reith was a no talent hack. Cueto has better stuff than Reith could ever dream of.

Don't forget Votto. Patterson is pretty good out there too, but since range is the only skill he has, it is overlooked. I agree with your overall point though. Range is a problem at all positions but 1B, 2B, and CF. Poor arms all over the outfield, with poor strength in RF and CF, and poor accuracy in LF. Too many errors at 3B. The defense is a mess. I hope that can be fixed if we are selling at the trade deadline.

I see Danny Dorn is activated and wearing No. 22 on the Sarasota roster. He should play tonight.
Daniel Perales is on Daytons roster and wearing No.12.

    Nice catch Redman
The lowest acceptable payroll amount for ownership to show they are not greedy pigs is 15 million more than they are currently paying. No matter what that currently is.

Well, he did lower his average by only going 1 for 3...with a run scored.

He also added an outfield assist by nailing a runner at 2nd...but the Reds don't need his kind of defense right now. They've got Dunn-Patterfreel-Griffey.
