Patterson's never going to produce offensively; he's made a career of not producing. Saving 10 runs defensively isn't much of an upgrade when he's costing you 20 offensively.

    The incredibly rare sacrifice fly!
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

Tie game on a Dunn sac fly. Tie game 3-3. Good hustle by Edwin to get to 3rd.

Good job by Dunn. Good baserunning by EE.

The Reds played a little 'small ball' and succeeded.

Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
    Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
    Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13
    University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
    Cincinnati Bengals - None
    Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

Dunn hardly hit that ball and it went to deep left. I was at Shea this weekend and Dunn hit some foul line drives that were frightening. Putting aside all the talke about his attributes and deficiencies, Dunn has awesome power as he showed there again.

Crazy baserunning by EE!!! We would be hating on him if that failed, but since it worked, gotta love it!

    Nevermind.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

If he OPSes under .700, I'll tip my hat to you and admit I was wrong. I think he can OPS in the .740 range in 450 ABs. He won't get that many, as Bruce will likely be up, making this whole discussion moot. But he has a place on MLB roster, starting or not.

Bako pops out to short. They are letting Harang bat with 2 outs and a runner on 3rd.
