Is this the clear cut option to replace Jeff Kepp?

I was checking the box score from the 'Bats game going on right now. Janish was pulled in the 8th inning after a 1 for 2 night.
Methinks he's on his way to Cincinnati as we speak.
That's kind of a bummer.
I think I woulda tried Hairston for a week or so, and call up Bruce.
Hairston showed me a couple little things tonight in the field that showed me it would be worth trying. And Bruce gets an audition. If he passes, great... keep him around and make a move. If he doesn't, no biggie. Send him back down when Hopper's ready or something.
Damn shame about Kepp though. I was really looking forward to seeing him against the Indians this weekend.
I have a love-hate relationship with Albert Pujols. Mostly hate.
why not bruce let hairston and freel play ss

They need a good defender at SS and I would rather have Jerry and Ryan be able to move around as the utility guys. It's not a bad thing to get Janish up here since we know he can defend and hit a bit too.
"I tried to play golf, but I found out I wasn't very good." -Joey Votto on his offseason hobby search
An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”

Jerry has only 9 total games at shortstop. Do we really want someone that inexperienced at the most important infield position?

Marty just now said that Janish was told he's coming up. No "official" announcement yet though.
Cool. Unless something miraculous happens, otherwise, this season is lost. Let's see what we got. We'll be losing Dunn and Junior either this year or at the end of the season. No reason not to try the young guys.
Janish is a good option. He'll help a lot in defense, but also has shown some OBP skills. The loss of Keppenger hurts, but it's not the difference between a winning and losing team.
