I don't want to derail the thread, but as of this date Dunner is hitting:

    .328 .488 .656 1.144

AND he doesn't lead the team in strikeouts. He has four guys ahead of him and Kearns nipping at his heels. Amazing start to the season for Dunn.

I watched Dunn go yard again last night against the D-backs.
"My mission is to be the ray of hope, the guy who stands out there on that beautiful field and owns up to his mistakes and lets people know it's never completely hopeless, no matter how bad it seems at the time. I have a platform and a message, and now I go to bed at night, sober and happy, praying I can be a good messenger." -Josh Hamilton

    Outstanding work, AD.

Really well done. Thanks for all the effort.

Dunn is on pace to end the season with 1417 career strikeouts. If that does indeed occur, here are the list of guys he'll potentially pass on the all-time strikeout list (a few above him are still active):

    61	R. Clayton 1415
    62	Ron Gant	1411
    63	Darrell Evans	1410
    64	Rob Deer	1409
    65	Jay Buhner	1406
    66	Eric Davis	1398
    67	Frank Thomas	1397
    68	Derek Jeter	1396
    69	C Yastrzemski	1393

    74	Jeromy Burnitz	1376
    75	Travis Fryman	1369
    76	Matt Williams	1363
    77	Danny Tartabull	1362
    78	Tim Salmon	1360
    79	Larry Parrish	1359
    80	D Strawberry	1352
    81	Robin Yount	1350
    82	Rafael Palmeiro	1348
    83	Ron Santo	1343
    84	Julio Franco	1341

    89	Babe Ruth	1330
    90	Deron Johnson	1318
    91	Cecil Fielder	1316
    92	Shawn Green	1315
    93	Richie Sexson	1313
    94	Willie Horton	1313
    95	Jimmie Foxx	1311
    96	Ivan Rodriguez	1310
    97	M Tettleton	1307
    98	Tim Wallach	1307
    99	Cal Ripken	1305
    100	Steve Finley	1299

This isn't a thread derail by the way.... Dunn will be passing guys like Ripken, Foxx, Ruth, Yastrzemski, and Aaron.

in their era, Foxx and Ruth were discussed the way kids of my generation discussed Rob Deer and Dave Kingman.

but compared to hitters that they helped to create, they come across as contact hitters.

I believe that anyone who passes Jay Buhner's career totals is eligible to apply for federal stimulus money as a wind farm.
