    Rate the strength of this year's draft class.

    Specifically the "top-tier" talent.

    It seems like this is an above-average year for talent in the draft.

    I'm a baseball draft neophyte, so you experts weigh in.

    I think the top tier talent is good but not incredibly so but deep in numbers. There are a bunch of very good players at the top but no one who is a consensus any year any time 1st or 2nd pick. The talent looks really deep though, with good projectable players all over at most positions. Outfield seems to be the weakest position available, imo, while corner infielders, especially first baseman are really deep. All in all I think its the kind of year any team has a chance to get a very good player with their top pick and the teams at the end won't see that much difference in quality from the teams at the top. It's a very good year to have a lot of picks without as much importance on when you pick. Beyond the top 8-10 picks there isn't that much a dropoff. Not a good year to lose out on your second rounder.
