"I tried to play golf, but I found out I wasn't very good." -Joey Votto on his offseason hobby search
An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”
Wow, what a game and what a team! This was a DOMINANT hockey team in this league. I'm not sure what kind of legit NHL talent they might have, but this was a team that could seemingly control the game at will.
The Cyclones and Wranglers entered the final period tied 1-1, and I'm not sure if I've ever seen a more dominant period of hockey than what the Cyclones did in the third period.
We finally have a championship!
Kevin Gregg and Jason Marquis will bring back memories of the Lost Decade.
This was the 7th championship by a Cincinnati hockey team. So if you count minor league hockey, Cincinnati has won 12 championships with the five by the Reds. Of those 12, this was only the third clinched in Cincinnati.
Would love to see a repeat next season.
