After all he's been through in the last couple of years, coming back from cancer and getting back into pitching for the RS, this is a huge accomplishment and a great story for baseball. Congrats Jon!
"I tried to play golf, but I found out I wasn't very good." -Joey Votto on his offseason hobby search

An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”

As a big Sox fan and someone who followed him as a prospect, I couldn't be happier for Jon. He's a great kid and very deserving of this. I love seeing fans of every team jump on these kinds of stories, because it reminds me there is so much more to this game than what we so often quibble over.
"He [Janish] is a true shortstop, but Jerry's doing a great job offensively and we've been having trouble offensively," Baker said. "You've got to have some offense to replace a key offensive guy."
-Dusty Baker, 5/15/08 while Corey Patterson raises his OBP to a whopping .276 and Jay Bruce's .984 OPS sits in Louisville

From someone who would give anything to see a game at Fenway Park, I would have taken those tickets in a hearbeat....I wouldn't care if it was Boston vs. Tampa Bay...and yes, I know they are decent this year. That has always been a dream of mine to see a game there.
