Frazier walks in his next atbat. He's 1-for-2 with a double and a walk.

Long is 1-for-2 with a double in his Sarasota debut.

Actually the scoreboard at Dayton is messed up!
Merker pitched only one inning, Valiquette pitched the 2 others and his innings are recorded as Merker.

7 Ks for LeCure now, matches his season high. Into the fifth Straight's double only Lookout hit

Syzmanski's hot start is fading. 56 Ks in 136 ABs now, and his OPS is falling faster than his ballcard's value.

LeCure has another nice inning though Cumberland saved him on a catch to the track on the run

Mesoraco is coming around a bit and now hitting .243/.351/.432, good for a .783 OPS. If he can hit enough at Dayton over the next few weeks then he may justify just staying there rather than heading to Billings. The best case scenario for the Reds would be if Mesoraco can continue hitting a bit and have a decent, full season in Dayton, and then he'd be right back on track.

Doesn't Mesoraco have a clause in his contract that he has to play in Dayton this year?

Haha, I actually heard a story that went something like that. I won't share it for fear of starting a "Homer drinking"-esque gossip fest, but it sounds like the ladies like Jay just as much as we on this board do.

Watch Paul Janish play for the Reds and you have your explanation. Good defensive shortstops are important, so sometimes you gamble that the bat will come around.

    Chattanooga lost 4-1.

The only bright spot offensively was Cody Strait going 2-for-3 with a double.

Meseraco seems to be coming around! Hope he can keep the momentum going.

Its obvious he has some work to do on both sides of the field - but he's startin to hit a bit, and I like that he did block some balls in the dirt this game. He's such a young kid, that passed ball was more than likely a small lapse in concentration.

I like what I'm seeing, especially after his start.. just hope he keeps it up

Devin is fine. It is the pitchers which never workout.
