    Re: Reds at Padres 5-22-08

There is a decent chance that tonight's Padres lineup is the least intimidating I've ever seen. My God, that is just putrid. And with Peavy, Young, and Bard out and Hoffman looking older every day, I'd say the Pads are about to be in serious, serious rebuild mode.

No reason we shouldn't take 3 of 4 this weekend....

It's strange, I think his mechanics look much better and much more consistent tonight yet he has walked a few and been in a lot of 3 ball counts. He does have the strikeout pitches working though...

Aaron's got his good fastball tonight, though, if not the best command.

Brian Giles has some of the best plate discipline in all of baseball. I don't think that's necessarily a bad sign about Harang's command there; that's just a good eye from Giles doing what it does best.

With that K to end the 3rd, Harang's ERA is now under 3.00-- I wonder when the last time two Reds starters were both under 3.00 this late into the season?

He appears to have full command at times and no command at other times...odd. On the Gonzalez K, he appeared to hit his spot on every pitch (even the 3rd one, which was a brush back) and reached for some extra on the 94mph strikeout pitch.

The walks have both come while he's trying to keep a runner close to 1st, like it's a concentration thing.

At least Jr made Wolfe work a little bit. Just 42 pitches in 3.1 innings
