Volquez is having a terrific season but his 5 and 6 inning outings put some pressure on the pen. If he can pitch more innings I'd pick him but now I'm voting for Webb.

I was about to post the same thing. Webb is good for 7 innings a start, Volquez "only" 6.

(guess i should apologize in advance if some - ahem hondo - think i'm not as much of a reds fan now)

In today's game, I think innings are drastically underrated. And seriously, though, it shouldn't be a slight at all to say that Volquez has "only" been the 2nd or 3rd best pitcher in the NL this year. He's incredible, and has been lights-out all year. Love the guy, and hope he's a Red for a long time.

    Oh, it's not like that!

Win loss records are overrated. Not necessarily in Webb's case because he is a great pitcher, but Harang is pitching pretty well and his won-loss record stinks. Volquez pitched in 2 games where the Reds got shutout (I believe?) and only gave up a run or two. He could easily have 9 or 10 wins right now had the offense been there. But on the other hand he has had tremendous run support the rest of the time.

I dont want Edinson to pitch in the all-star game. What if he blows his arm out or pulls a Jack Armstrong and goes in the tank?
When I see the 2016 Reds, I see a 100 loss team and no direction.
