    5/24/08 Minors Updates

The Bats just started. Bruce is in CF and batting 3rd, with Maloney on the mound.

Bruce hasn't homered in six days - he's due.

They're probably kicking themselves for not trading him for Jacques Jones in the offseason.

Maloney allows a leadoff single but get two strikeouts to get out of the inning.

I wonder how good of a defensive center fielder Chris Heisey is? He's got some nice numbers in Sarasota.

Dayton is tied at 0-0 heading to the second. No one has reached base for either team.

Juan Francisco homered for Sarasota. Doesn't get a lot of props around here because of his lack of walks, but he's a 20 year old at High A ball playing against older guys and doing extremely well. A very good prospect.

He has 3 walks and 45 strikeouts this year. Thats a 15-1 ratio of strikeouts to walks. Thats downright terrible to be nice about it. Love his power potential, but his 'swing at everything' is going to hold him back big time.

Maloney has really come on of late. Hope he keeps it up. I still like this kid a lot more than most.
