Jeffords throws a 1-2-3 9th for the save. Dayton wins 6-4.

Chattanooga scored two runs in the 9th to tie the game at four but Viola allowed a run in the 9th to lose 5-4. Viola had been pitching better his last three games. RH hitters are crushing him.

    Strait: 2-for-5 triple
Valaika: 2-for-3 double, walk (his walk rate is really improving in AA)
    Henry: 1-for-3 double
    Dorn: 2-for-2 double

Calling Stubbs a bust is just like those calling Mesoraco a bust after 7 games this year.... way to premature. Which was the point that was trying to be made.

And it's like calling Bailey a bust at the age of 22.

Hopefully tonight is the last minor league game of Jay Bruce's career.

Apples and oranges. There is no case for calling Mesoraco a bust. He's a HS pick and it's way to soon. Stubbs was/is older and SHOULD have advanced better than he has. Mesoraco is 19 and in A ball, could be 20 in high A next year. Stubbs will be 24 in AA, likely 25 in AAA and looks to be a 4th OF right now. He is easier to project at this point than Mesoraco. DM needs time before he can be evaluated.

You know, its too bad Devon's parents didn't name him Tom. Right now, Tom Thumb is the perfect nickname, but Devon Thumb just doesn't ring.

I guess we shall see if Bruce's lack of walks translates to more walk in the Majors.

I think when he isn't hitting well, he will be a major liability.

Though, compared to Patterson the awfull, that would probably seem like a oasis.

That really speaks to Patterson. Dusty's manlove for him is disturbing.
