    Homer....lately

I was listening to XM and the ever credible baseball analyst Jamie Denton of "Desperate Housewives" fame said he saw him pitch last week [Denton is a Reds fan and wanted to see Bruce] and that in his opinion whenever Homer got into trouble he was grooving a fastball trying to beat hitters and that they were all right down the middle.

My question is then, for those that see him or keep up, has Homer regressed after he wasn't called up early on doing things like the Reds wanted?

Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
    Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
    Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13, 15
    University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
    Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

"Grooving" is ok when you have high velocity. Somebody better tell Homer he isn't hitting 97 right now.

Weren't you the one who told us that Homer was coming to the stadium hungover? If you have such close ties to him, why don't you tell him yourself?

    Re: Homer....lately

I watched Kershaw pitch for the Dodgers last night. He threw almost all of his fastballs away to LH hitters. They waited on his curve (although he threw a few beauties) and forced him to come in with the fastball.

I wonder if Dodgerzone was pinning the bust label on him after that outing.

Another phenom, Phil Hughes has found the transition from minors to majors more than a little difficult as well.

It takes time for these young guys to learn how to harness their stuff. I still think patience is necessary for Homer.
