Jim Brower to cubs for cash....

I'm not sure if it's been posted here, but they just announced it on WLW.

    He was 0-1 witha 2.88 era over 25 innings. 11 bb and 28 k's with 2 saves.

Considering his age, it's time to move him out and bring up some younger arms. Best of luck Jim.
    2014 predictions:
99-63 WS champs (Cards take 2nd WC, Mil 3rd, Pit 4th, Chi 5th)
Bruce/Votto neck and neck MVP race (neither takes it)
    Bailey CYA winner
    Hamilton ROY & GG

Well, I certainly agree with Roenicke. I'm not that familiar with Geronimo however. Good stuff?

He has allowed a run in 1 game this year. 0 runs in his other 22. He is absolutely dominating the FSL right now out of the bullpen.

Jocketty is clearing out the fluff. Good to see! We've been holding guys back (especially middle relievers) for the sake of backup veterans for too long.

Speaking of which, Guevara is starting up in the PCL: 6 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 5 SO, 1 BB. I still think we're going to regret not protecting him, even if he's just a serviceable middle reliever for a few years.

Notable pitcher's (by performance) in Dayton -- possible promotion candidates?

    Code:
Name Age	IP	ERA	WHIP	H	BB	SO
    Montana 23	55.0	3.27	1.09	48	12	42
    Del Rosario	22	45.1	1.59	0.82	28	9	31
    Klinker 22	43.2	3.30	1.15	42	8	34
    Valiquette	21	26.0	3.12	1.35	25	10	32
    Jeffords	23	25.0	2.52	1.32	24	9	36
Valiquette is the only one I'm familar with. Del Rosario has been amazing at avoid hits, but the K rate doesn't back it up. Jeffords' K rate is of the chart, but he's a reliever. Montano looks like the most well rounded starter of the bunch.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

Wow. I love Geronimo's numbers. Good lord!

    0-0 / 0.78 era / 3 saves / 23 ip / 11 hits / 5 bb / 29 k's / .138 opp avg

That's impressive stuff. How in the world did I not even NOTICE the guy? Sheesh!

Valiquette was already promoted so he isn't an option.

Del Rosario and Valiquette were both promoted to Sarasota earlier this week.
    I miss Adam Dunn.
