We have a pitcher capable of givin us 4-5 innings in Affeldt and we are still very much in this game. No, he should be on the bus to Lousville right now.

I would guess because Dusty doesn't want to cannibalize the bullpen in the bottom of the third inning.
Eric Stratton, Rush Chairman. Damn glad to meet ya.

Hairston's been a real good surprise this year.

There, giving Dusty credit for something.

If you have a chance to win a ballgame you try to win it... even if it means you have to pull your starter in the 3rd inning...

Okay, so who do you bring in for Fogg? Really?

And does anyone on earth really think Cueto's going to go longer than 5 innings tomorrow?

You pretty much have to stick with Fogg right now. The entire bullpen will need rotator cuff surgery by the end of the weekend if they go to the pen this inning.

    Bruce swung and miss.

We need a virgin to sacrifice, quick!

Bruce flies out to left. 5-5 after 3.

Then send out Fogg after the game and call up a long guy. Then, when Fogg's spot in the rotation comes up, demote the long guy (or Lincoln) and call up Maloney/Thompson.

    Not that difficult.

Nine pitch inning for Jurrjens. Hopefully this isn't the part where the Reds get away from what made them successful and starting hacking away.

    Re: Reds vs Braves 5/31/08

Dusty is handling this correctly. Fogg is a weak starter but every inning he gets through saves the pen. I'm sure Fogg will be lifted -- no pun intended -- if there is more trouble. If Dusty had another Fogg or Belisle in the pen, it would be no improvement.

I'm sure the Reds will have a new fifth starter very soon. Walt is just waiting to be sure Maloney is ready. Maloney started off poorly this year, has recently been good, I'm sure Walt is just making sure he's ready to go.

Everyone thought the Reds would lose this game, they're ahead of the game in a tie game.

Lincoln now. DFA Fogg after the game and get a fresh arm tomorrow.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

What long guy? Every other option aside from maybe Maloney is just asking for more trouble.
