Shh, don't say that too loud. Us Mez fans that have stuck with him want to keep him quiet.

One question, why is Thompson different from other top prospect pitchers we have had in that he can be rushed? I notice most people didn't want to rush Cueto and Bailey, and now everyone is clamoring for him to be up now. Is it age or length from when he was drafted ago?

If Arroyo keeps pitching like tonight, there will be plenty of room for Thompson in the Reds rotation soon enough.

I'm not clamoring to rush Thompson. People just want to rush Thompson because the Reds have strung out some recent wins and have gotten close to relevance, but not even that is an excuse to rush a pitcher.

Thompson still has less than 80 innings above High-A ball. I'd like to see him in AAA for another 10 starts/60ish innings or so. That'll take him to August, then re-evaluate the situation from there.

I've noticed Eric Eymann has been consistently hitting the ball for the last two weeks. Now tonight he goes 4 for 4. What do we know about this kid? is he playing himself into prospect status?

This is his second start at AAA right ?

You know when we were all discussing whether it should be Bailey or Maloney, actually Thompson has had the best numbers pitching this year hasn't he? I kept quiet on him because of the experience issue, and the feedback that would have followed, but he might be the right guy for the callup.

Travis Wood strikes out 2 and walks 1 in the first inning of game 2 for the Lookouts.

I think part of it has to do with age. He's a bit older than both Bailey and Cueto. Not saying it's a good reason, but I think that is the reason people have less of a problem with it. I think the other part of it is his command is really good too.

I'm with Cyclone. I think he needs to at least pitch in Louisville through the end of July before they consider bringing him up.
