Nice comeback by Bray vs, Howard. In a perfect world, he should've been outta the inning 1-2-3

If those consecutive lefties were any combo of Bruce, Dunn or Votto instead of Patterson and Bruce, I'm not sure loogy comes into play very often, especially when you're starter is throwing zeroes. It all comes back to poor players and even worse placement IMO.

1-0 Reds in the bottom of the 8th inning. Utley is on second base with two outs and Pat Burrell up. Looks like Cordero is coming in.

there's nothing like bowling a 300 game! 13 now and retired.

I don't know. Burton has been throwing the ball really well lately.

Btw, Dickerson now 3-3 with 2 walks.

It actually serves two purposes. First, this is an extremely high leverage situation, and ideally you want your best reliever in the game here for it.

Secondly, saving Burton rather than using him for one out here is a safety valve for an extra inning game. You know Cordero's pitching the 9th no matter what, unless the Phillies go wild here.
