Totally agree. I understood your explanation about the bunt, but I still would have given the situation. Corey Patterson has 100 more chances of beating out a bunt than getting a hit off a left handed pitcher. And less chance of a DP. But...

Coming from this boards biggest critic of managers over the years (that would be me), I think Dusty's doing OK so far. Sure, giving him Corey Patterson is like giving beer to an alcoholic, and that should be stopped, but overall, I'm seeing quality managed games compared to Bob Boone, Dave Miley, and Jerry Narron. If I have anything to be thankful for, it's that those three guys aren't anywhere near the Reds. That was nightmare time.

Edinson Volquez is the greatest person ever next to Jay Bruce. He made Chase Utley look stupid twice....if you can do that, you're doing something VERY right.

He made the best lineup in baseball look clueless....



Yeah....he's SCARY good. What's scarier is how much better he can be over time.
