Try using "Miami (Ohio)" when referring to the school in Oxford. ... Redskin grads, er, Redhawk grads love that one too.

2007 Reds draftee Leon Landry that went to college instead of signing just made one of the most spectacular plays in CF that I have ever seen.

As much as I wish they played for my Redhawks, its the University of Miami. Miami University was founded before Florida was even a state.

Alonso just went yard for the second day in a row. First-inning shot the other way to give Miami a 3-0 lead. My goodness he is impressive. I am loving the pick more and more. He has a great approach, great swing and is a leader. Defensively, he looks pretty good to me, but it's hard to really tell. But hitting-wise, I have no doubt. This kid is a stud and I actually think we were lucky to get him at No. 7. They are saying he is "the best hitter in college baseball." That's pretty high praise, but that's exactly what he looks like. He is now batting over .370 with 23 HRs on the year.

And this is great experience for him playing in a Super Regional and then the CWS (if Miami holds on and wins this elimination game over Arizona... they're tied 1-1 right now in the series).

    Alonso is a monster.

BTW, did anyone see LSU's comeback?

Reds draft pick is pitching for the U too. It will be good to see what he's got.

Was just about to post this, everyone turn on to ESPN2 to check out Enrique Garcia.

He's got a fastball and splitter from what I can see (he was a closer last year..now is a starter), i'm sure they'll try to get him to develop another pitch over time.

That ball just ate Yonder up. That was a tough play but one that he probably should have made.

The SEC was grossly overrated this year for some reason. Getting 9 teams into the field with a possibility of only 1 getting into the CWS.

THen you have the ACC who might get 3 teams in the CWS. Why the slurpfest for the SEC?

This is the first year i've ever watched college baseball (didn't get cable till a month ago) and I really enjoy it. The atmosphere is great and there is a ton of emotion.
