Infield single for Jacobs. Good play by Phillips but Votto couldn't handle the hop.
    I miss Adam Dunn.

Phillips made an awesome pay, but Votto couldn't hold on.

Votto hasn't looked very comfortable scooping the ball -- not the strongest part of his game, for sure.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

That 2-2 pitch to Gonzalez looked awful nice. It's been called on Dunn all night. Now it's 3-2. Foul.

Now Gonzalez walks. Should have been strike three. Consistency please.
    I miss Adam Dunn.

Not trying to make Cantu into any kind of savior or anything, but his RH bat would balance bench nicely. I hated that they let him go with Castro, Hopper and Valentin still on the roster.

Welsh blaming Bako for being too tricky.

It sure would've been nice to have gotten that strike three call on Gonzalez. That same pitch has been called a strike on Dunn all night but was a ball for Gonzalez.
    I miss Adam Dunn.
