    Strikeout pace

The Reds are on a pace to strike out 1,298 batters this year.

Who holds the record? Who holds the AL record?

On a similar note I believe Howard is on a pace for 200+ strikeouts.

When did Dusty take over the Cubs? If it was 2001 then Dusty needs to change his stance on aggresiveness at the plate.

Dusty took over in 2003. But this is for pitchers, I believe, not hitters.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.
