    Corey makes me sick...

But Patterson went 1-for-5, left four runners on - and sounded OK with it.

"I thought I had good at-bats," he said. "You can't worry about results. People look at charts and worry about results. You've got to maintain your approach. You have your ups and down. Could I be playing better? Sure. I've been in this situation before. You've got to keep playing."

I read this and I just wanted to share it with everyone here... I mean, sounded OK with it? I know he is moved lower in the lineup, but the M's are reportely thinking about Releaseing Richie Sexson and his .218 average and 9 Home Runs... Yet Dusty, and more importantly, the Organization is ok with Running Patterson out there?

I know there have been a Bunch of Threads about Patterson, and I apologize for Posting this one... But I had to Post this...

    Disgusting...

Of course he's okay with it. Like Dusty, he's counting his money in $1 bills.

So, does Corey mean that you've got to keep your head up since it's a long season? Or, did he subliminally convince Dusty to keep playing him despite the fact he sucks? Really sounds like a subliminal message to me. :

I hope I'm not the only one seeing this, cause that would make me have bad eye sight. Almost every swing he puts on the ball looks like he's chopping straight down to the plate. I'm no hitting instructor, but he's been doing it since his first slump. It drives me crazy. BTW, he swings and misses every time he chops. I mean if he did hit it, it would bounce straight down.

    This team is a mess...

    Corey:

When your results are as bad as yours... I'd suggest ditching the approach you speak of altogether. Get a clue.

.....and he knows it. I assure you he knows he's finished.

1 for 5 wasn't the worst part of it. Misplaying Pierre late in the game was terrible. Sure nobody thought that Pierre would hit it over an outfielder's head, but I've been played deeper in Little league.

Pattersons swing is one haned and looks as though its a pretty good back hand in a tennis match. Maybe Corey is playing the wrong sport..

I think he made Griffey sick, too.

He didn't realize that Dusty would have had him in the lineup regardless.

Like I've said before, his swing is about the same looking as Cueto's and Cueto's is gawd awful.

Well 1 for 5 is .200, which is currently going to increase his Batting Average...

    PEACE

I think that in a year or two, one of these guys - Frazier, Dorn, Valaika, Cumberland, Stubbs - will be ready to replace Dunn. They won't hit as many home runs as Dunn, but they should have similar OPS. - 757690, July 22, 2008

Alonso will be playing 1B for the REDS and batting 4th one year from today. - Kingspoint, July 9, 2009

You are right, he looks horrible at the plate, but he always had, even when he was with Dusty before, great speed but terrible bat.

With a lifetime .255 average, did we really need to sign this guy for that amount money?

There's a reason that Krivsky was fired.

    Re: Corey makes me sick...

I must be crazy, but I am starting to think that CP must eventually get back to his career norms. Maybe we should play him everyday right now, He basically will need to hit .300 for a couple of months to get up there. With that and his defense, that would be pretty good. I would then release him when he gets there, because he is bound to fall back to the depths of complete inadequacy.
That or maybe the $2 pitchers of High Life from last night caused me to drink myself retarded.
