Hmm, I think I like this lineup. Joey has a good eye so hopefully he does well batting in the leadoff spot. Go Joey!
"I tried to play golf, but I found out I wasn't very good." -Joey Votto on his offseason hobby search

An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”

I say move Cabrera to the 6 hole, Bruce to the 2 hole followed by Dunn and he would have something.

HEY! It only took over 2 1/2 months to move Patterson out of the 1-2 spots!!!

Its still a very flawed in its construction. Patterson doesn't belong anywhere in the lineup. And are you sure Votto isn't playing CF?

Hah, well Dunn's still buried in the lineup and batting in front of an automatic out, and the fact that Patterson is in there to begin with, but I guess we will take whatever victories we can, and getting someone with a semblence of OBP in the leadoff spot works for me.

Taking Phillips out of the 4 and moving him down to 6 would help too. Phillips is more of an automatic out than Edwin with his terrible .313 OBP, not to mention his rally killing 10 GIDP.

Votto as the leadoff hitter? I sure as heck did not see that one coming.

Leadoff is an improvement simply because Patterson isn't there.

I like Bruce at 3 but better at 2.

BP does not = a cleanup hitter. I wonder if this will be Dusty's next revelation.

EE and Dunn still too far down in the order.

Patterson should not be playing if Hopper is healthy.

The sad fact is, despite all those criticisms, it's still an improvement for Dusty.

I totally agree about Hopper playing instead of Patterson... He is activated so what? Does Dusty want Hopper on the Bench so he can Pinch hit for Patterson later in the Game...

That is probably the way he thinks...

    Re: Votto hitting leadoff

I'm not thrilled with Joey leading off, but it's not like Dusty's got many other viable options. Nobody is hitting.

The one positive is Patterson batting 7th. I really don't have much of a problem with Patterson playing right now. We don't have many options regarding CF right now, his defense is solid, my problem was hitting him at the top of the lineup. Once we get some players back from injuries...it should be back to the bench for him though (or "other" options).
