14/85 batting average and OBA since 4/28 for our leadoff hitter.

    That's .164.

Based upon tonight's lineup, I think Dusty wants the Reds to acquire Matt Kemp.......

Those of like mind would probably be secretly hoping for a Dodgers sweep.

Clearly they belong at the top. Somebody needs to tell Dusty that 7-8-9 is just the same as 9-1-2, but with fewer chances to make those outs.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

    Can even Dusty rationalize this?

I wonder what would would happen if Corey Patterson learned to pitch. Would he bat ninth or simply invert the lineup? :

Filthy changeup to strikeout Dewitt. That is a nasty pitch...I just wish he would throw it more.

Patterson singles to right... great... that should buy about 20 more at-bats...

Have to win this one. Can't waste the ultra-rare Corey Patterson base hit.
