I talked to Hank Aaron and Hank really likes how his swing is coming around too. We'll have to get Corey some good playing time this year, and I think he'll be around for awhile. Dude can swing the bat, man. He's coming around."

400 foot flyout for Bruce. That's a homer anywhere else in the park.
    I miss Adam Dunn.

I just find myself stunned at how badly Baker has mismanaged Patterson. The only way he helps, and this isn't necessarily an insignficant way, is as a late-inning glove and pinch-runner. That's pretty much it.

To inflict Patterson like Baker has on Reds-dom is simply cruel. No one in control of their faculties would use Patterson as much (or in the manner) that Baker has. Having Baker do that really hampers a GM, because Baker cannot apparently be trusted to be sane. You can't give him flawed toys because he will use excessively and incorrectly the flawed toys. It is mind-boggling.

At least CP is batting 7th tonight, but I don't know that I have ever been aware of a team that has run out guys so OBP horrible at the top of their line-up on a consistent basis as this team has this year.

Case in point is Cabrerra in the 2-hole. Simply horrible. And what do you get? A double play and a strikeout. Genius!

    Indeed.

Baker at his worst has been far worse than my most tortured imaginings.

Arroyo should walk every LH hitter he faces for the rest of the year. I bet his numbers would improve.
