Great pitching there. Fell behind 3-0 on Giambi and threw three straight called strikes to K Giambi.

I would absolutely love it if Volquez won Cy Young this season... going about 21-5 with a 1.80 era...

When was the last time Bako blocked a pitch in the dirt? Wild pitch.

Awful effort by Bako on the ball in the dirt. I'm not impressed with his defense at all.

It doesn't matter since he isn't playing there. Unless you just want to bash Junior for every good play someone else makes.

Cano is a lot better than a .224 hitter...

Great play Votto! His footwork around the bag might need some work, but he's got range like no Reds first baseman I can remember.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

these are far from "bashes", just observations. you, yourself have noted that jr does not have the range he used to.

Just identifying what good defense brings to a team. Our normal RF would not have gotten that ball and the run would have scored.
