Hopefully, Parker is getting hot again.

Might go to the game tomorrow - and snag a good seat.

    I'm just messin of course.

No doubt, especially since its Szymanski, not Symanski..

Good to see Cozart playing well. I've never heard so little talk about a second-round pick. Probably because he was really the Reds' fourth draft pick last year since they had two supplemental first rounders. And because he really hasn't done much up to this point.

How is Cozart defensively? Does he project as a solid MLB SS? Or is he yet another "shortstop" in our minor league system that actually projects as a 2B, 3B or OF.

Cozart, I believe, is a true SS. His D is his calling card, ala Janish.

I think of him as a slightly better Janish in that his bat may be a notch better.. still not a great bat.. Most thought the pick was a reach. But my gut tells me he might be slightly underrated.

Cozart is a true SS in the good glove no hit tradition. Nothing so far gives me any hope he'll be much more than that.

    .234 Avg .290 OBP .364 Slg .654 OPS

    Actually it's currently .252/.321/.466 for a .787 OPS.
He seems to be a streaky hitter - I think this is his third multi-HR game of the year. So if he can be more consistent he's got the potential to be a decent enough hitter to start some at SS. Count me in as thinking he's a bit underrated on this board. Certainly not a top 10 prospect, but still underrated.

Man, had no idea his numbers were that bad.. But looking at his splits is interesting.

    http://www.minorleaguesplits.com/cgi....cgi?pl=446359

He really struggles against LHP, but does pretty well against RHP.

Also, seems like the home park is KILLING him. .849 OPS away from home.

However, I can see why my impression of him was wrong, because my impression that he's doing pretty well is garnered through recent posts and he's been pretty damn good in June with a line of 314/368/569 good for a .937 OPS

Anyway, I hope he keeps on going at a better pace and can improve his overall numbers. Lets hope for a strong 2nd half.

Billings lost 4-3 to fall to the 4-1 on the season. They actually had a 3-2 lead in the 9th and blew it and went into 10 innings and lost.

Soto finished 4-for-5 with a triple and his 4th homerun. He finished a double shy of the cycle.

    Means: 2-for-5
    Soto: 4-for-5 triple, homerun (#4)
    Sappelt: 2-for-4 double

Yes, he's been hitting much better lately. The numbers I quoted were his career numbers through yesterday's game. If Zach can continue improving and show his past month hasn't been a fluke then he'll definitely jump a long way in my estimation. His glove is really solid so if he can get to the .750 OPS level and sustain that as he gets promoted ...
