Yep. He did an excellent job last night. I absolutely love that guy. Listening to him announce that game last night made me think of how much I miss watching him play. Larkin and Griffey were always my two favorite players growing up. He's one of the best all-around players I've ever seen and is a definite first ballot Hall of Famer in my book. It stinks that I'll be on vacation in Myrtle Beach when he gets inducted into the Reds Hall of Fame in July. Hopefully the Reds soon retire the #11 and bring Larkin back into the Reds organization is some capacity.
    I miss Adam Dunn.

Agreed on all counts. It's a bit of a travesty he's not working for the Reds in some capacity. Would love to see him down in the clubhouse, but know he preferred the FO work.

I'd like the Reds to have him in the tv/radio booth now and then.

It's not a travesty at all. He managed to make himself an enemy of John Allen and that made him persona non grata.

Just because he and Allen didn't see eye to eye on his retirement party shouldn't make him unwelcome after more than 20 yrs with this organization.

Hmmm. Barry Larkin on one hand. John Allen on the other. Wonder who I think is a travesty being gone from the organization?

I don't feel like it was just Allen, I felt like it was Dan-O too. The way he left the organization was disgraceful. If they didn't want him back, fine. But, he should've never left on bad terms. I suspect that BCast and company will right that wrong at some point.

I've always suspected that was just the public straw that broke the camel's back, either that or the retirement peccadillo provided a timely excuse to exclude someone who would have been better at office politics than Allen.

no you wouldn't. He said, last year, that home runs are rally killers.

Him or Brantley? I'll go with him...

As for what went down when he left, I think he shares equal blame for what happened.

I don't understand why he's doing games on ESPN. He's lucid, he's not bombastic, doesn't have a cool catch phrase and knows what he's talking about. He's a poor fit.

nah, Barry said it during his time with ESPN last year. I have heard several people say that, but I can't understand it at all.
